Drift Strategy:
I took a package of sour patch kids with me to my starting location, outside Riverview dorms. I picked a candy at random whenever the path divided. If the path had not divided in more then three minutes then I would pick another candy. The color of the candy signifies what I do.

Divided Path:
Green/yellow: left
Orange: right
Red: stop and record sound

Three Minutes:
Green/orange: Walk forward another three minutes/until you reach a fork in the road
Red/Yellow: stop and record sound

A hi-fi sound is when the system is “one in which discrete sounds can be heard clearly because of the low ambient noise level”. (Schafer, 43) Some examples of hi-fi sounds are the country and a library. Sounds overlap less frequently in a hi-fi soundscape compared to a low-fi soundscape. A lo-fi soundscape occurs when “individual acoustic signals are obscured in an overdense population of sounds.” (Schafer, 43) This means there is an overlapping sound throughout the space.
